Ghada Beal is set to become Superdrug's healthcare director on August 7, the multiple told C+D on Monday (June 26).
She will replace interim healthcare director Caris Newson, who will move to her new post as the multiple’s head of ecommerce, Superdrug said.

Ms Beal has 28 years’ experience in retail and pharmacy, most recently holding the position of retail and pharmacy services director at Lloydspharmacy, which she joined in 2021.
Prior to this post, Ms Beal spent 26 years at Walgreens Boots Alliance, spending the last four years as vice president, director of stores.

Ms Beal said she is “excited” to join “such a dynamic brand and business to help deliver Superdrug Health’s strategic ambitions in retail, healthcare and pharmacy”.
“My background as a pharmacist has meant that health and wellbeing have always been essential to me and I’m keen to continue developing the ways in which Superdrug supports the diverse healthcare needs of all communities,” she continued.

Superdrug’s commercial director Simon Comins said the multiple has “ambitious plans to continue to grow our health retail, pharmacy, clinical and digital services”.
“[Ms Beal's] passion for exceptional standards and her proven track record for delivering for the customer will help us deliver our goals,” he added.

It follows Superdrug’s announcement in April that it will open a total of 25 new bricks-and-mortar stores this year as part of a major “investment strategy” that will also see 70 stores refitted.
And the multiple revealed last week that it has launched a two-year nationwide diagnostics service, offering blood tests across 68 of its pharmacies.
