Well launches pharmacy in WH Smith at Heathrow Airport

Well’s latest branch to open is located within a WH Smith store at Heathrow Airport in west London, offering patients the opportunity to buy pharmacy-only medicines ahead of travel.

Patients at Heathrow Airport will be able to see a pharmacist ahead of their flight

The pharmacy, located in the airport’s terminal two, will not dispense prescriptions, but does offer patients the opportunity to purchase pharmacy-only (P) medicines that can only be sold under the guidance of a pharmacist, Well announced yesterday (August 26).

It is the second Well pharmacy to be located within a WH Smith store, with the other branch located at Gatwick airport.

Patients can also seek health advice from the pharmacy without the need for an appointment, in the privacy of a consultation room.

Seb Hobbs, chief executive of Well, said that although passenger numbers are “undoubtedly lower than usual”, the multiple is “delighted to provide a pharmacist service to the growing numbers passing through”.

“With no appointment needed, passengers can rely on the expert advice Well pharmacy teams provide every day along with well-known medicines to support their health and wellbeing needs,” he added.

Last year, Well opened its first pharmacy within a WH Smith store at Gatwick airport.
