C+D spoke to NHS England clinical lead Ravi Sharma to get his top tips for applying for a role in a GP surgery.
In 2015, NHS England began a pilot scheme to recruit an estimated 450 “clinical pharmacists” across 650 GP practices. In January 2018, NHS England said more than 1,100 pharmacists had been recruited under the scheme so far, working across more than 3,200 GP practices and covering more than 40% of the country.

I also read comments that CPE does not appreciate this critical position, and I fundamentally refute that. Knowing the colleagues, both elected and employed, at CPE as I do, this is far from the case.
Community pharmacy is risk adverse, considered, and dare I say it, conservative. But, when it comes to the survival of pharmacy, we can’t afford to let the fear of change – or those resistant to it - hold us back.
