Scottish pharmacy sponsors football club as Euro 24 fever takes hold
Scottish football club Queen’s Park FC has announced that independent pharmacy chain M & D Green will continue to be one of their primary shirt sponsors for the upcoming 2024/25 season.
This deal marks the fourth consecutive year of partnership between the family-owned pharmacy group and Queen’s Park, Scotland’s oldest football club.
M & D Green Area Manager Campbell Thomson said that there are “many parallels” between the pharmacy chain Queen’s Park FC, adding that both “build relationships together and with other parties for good”.
Queen’s Park Head of Commercial Kieran Koszary said that the continued partnership with M & D Green highlights their “shared values”, stating that everyone at the club is “thrilled” with their continued support.
He described M& D Green as a “strong and dynamic business who are committed to their local communities”.
This renewed deal is only the latest example of a continuous trend of partnerships between football and pharmacy on a local level.
Independent community pharmacy chain Knights Pharmacy has fostered partnerships with local football clubs in the Midlands for several years. Most recently, Knights signed a three-year deal with Southern League Central Premier club Redditch United FC as their official community healthcare partner. They are also involved with Bromsgrove Rovers AFC and Poulton Athletic FC, the latter of which works with children to develop their football skills from a young age.
South-London based pharmacy chain Pearl Chemist Group is currently an official partner of Morden club Tooting & Mitchum United, while Portsmouth pharmacy group Lalys sponsor Meon Milton Youth FC’s under 15s team.
While the Three Lions look to bring football home after a near 60-year drought, community pharmacy and local football clubs continue to nurture sustainable partnerships for years to come.
Scotland started its Euro 24 campaign by getting thrashed by Germany 5-1.
