After almost 10 years of writing for C+D, the previous holder of the Xrayser alias decided to pass their pen over to a new writer last year.
C+D opened a writing competition to find Xrayser's replacement in May 2021, asking entrants to produce a short, compelling and light-hearted article detailing their experience of community pharmacy.
After receiving stacks of submissions, C+D whittled down the entries to three finalists in with the chance of becoming community pharmacy's most notorious anonymous blogger.
And from March 27 to April 13, readers were able to vote for their favourite writer. Readers voted overwhelmingly for Xrayser hopeful number 2, who has now officially become C+D's anonymous blogger. In keeping with tradition, their true identity will remain a secret.

You can read their first blog after being sworn in as the next Xrayser here, which features a brand new look for community pharmacy's favourite cantankerous contractor.
C+D’s editor Beth Kennedy said: “We at C+D had a blast reading through your entries to become our next anonymous blogger – and the quality of writing was so high that we simply couldn't pick our winner ourselves.

“Hundreds of you voted for the entrant you wanted to become the next Xrayser. We're delighted to share their first C+D blog with you and can't wait to hear what they make of the goings-on in community pharmacy over the coming months.
“For, as we've always said at C+D, although the identity of Xrayser remains a mystery, their irreverent views are known by all.”
