Eastry Pharmacy, located on The Cross in Eastry near Sandwich, was sold to an “experienced London operator”, the broker announced today (May 23).

The business was owned by London-based pharmacist Najam Hafeez for “over 30 years”, specialist business property adviser Christie & Co said.

It added that the confidential sales process “generated multiple offers” but told C+D that it was not able to name the new buyer.

Eastry Pharmacy was sold for an undisclosed price.

The pharmacy dispenses an “average of 11,443 items per month” and is the “main pharmacy in East Kent for Yellow Fever vaccinations” amongst its “many service offerings”, according to Christie & Co.

“This high-volume pharmacy near the East Kent Coast has a very loyal customer base and has been sold for the first time in over 30 years,” director of medical at Christie & Co Mark Page, who handled the sale, said.   

It comes after a health centre pharmacy in a suburb of Swansea was sold to a regional pharmacy group earlier this month following “exceptional interest”.

Last month (April 18), Christie & Co said there had been “an unprecedented number of pharmacies on the market recently”.
