Pharmacist ‘honoured’ to score place on Forbes 30 Under 30 list

A pharmacist and tech entrepreneur has won a place on the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe list for 2023.

Reece Samani, who is CEO of several pharmacy businesses including the locum-booking app Lopic and the electronic private prescription service SignatureRx, was selected by a panel of judges for thelist’s science and healthcare category.

The list, published last week (March 7), recognises 30 of Europe’s “youngest visionary leaders” across 10 categories.

Mr Samani’s electronic private prescription-writing system SignatureRx launched in 2022 and is already being used to write 45,000 prescriptions per month with scripts, he said.

Meanwhile, Lopic, previously known as The Locum App, was named Online Initiative of the Year at the C+D Awards 2020.

His London-based Signature Pharmacy business is an online pharmacy with a next-day prescription delivery service that launched in 2022.

According to Forbes, Mr Samani believes the company is set to hit $2 million in revenue in 2023.

Mr Samani said it was “an honour” to make it onto Forbes’s list alongside “fellow entrepreneurs and game-changers”.

He continued: “I’ve always looked at the positive impact we can make with our companies and it’s incredible to be recognised for that. I hope to inspire and encourage other pharmacists within the profession to explore the countless opportunities it has to offer.”

Mr Samani is a regular blogger for C+D, writing on issues including locum rates and private healthcare.
