Lloydspharmacy extends rapid Deliveroo deliveries to 110 UK branches

Lloydspharmacy’s rapid delivery partnership with Deliveroo will be available from a further 110 branches “in the coming months”, the companies have announced.

Customers are able to buy 50 of the multiple’s “best-selling products” products

Currently, the service is available across 40 stores, with customers able to order and receive 50 of the multiple’s “best-selling products” products via the Deliveroo app “in as little as under 30 minutes”, the companies said.

In 2020, Lloydspharmacy first announced it was partnering with Deliveroo to deliver a range of over-the-counter (OTC) medicines and healthcare products to patients, with the service initially available from 16 of the multiple’s branches.

Lloydspharmacy customers can already be sent their orders from the multiple’s online next-day click-and-collect and next-day delivery services within 24 hours.

However, the Deliveroo service allows those in urgent need of medication to receive their purchases as soon as half an hour after making an order.

The expanded partnership will see Lloydspharmacy branches in Bristol, Nottingham, Exeter, Liverpool, Coventry, Manchester, and Newport able to offer the service “in the coming months”.

Lloydspharmacy’s 50 “best-selling products” are available via Deliveroo, including: cold and flu relief; OTC painkillers; tissues; sore throat lozenges; digestive relief; and at-home pregnancy tests.

“This partnership has already helped thousands of families and households”

Commenting on the expanded partnership, Lloydspharmacy chief retail officer Kevin Birch said: “Although Lloydspharmacy patients can order online for next-day delivery, through our extended partnership with Deliveroo, more patients across the UK can access the care supplies they need in just 30 minutes.”

The multiple is “committed to improving patient care”, he added, by giving patients “greater choice and control as to how, where, and when they access care and medicines”.

This expanded partnership “plays an important role in that mission”, he said.

Meanwhile, Carlo Mocci, chief business officer for the UK and Ireland at Deliveroo, said: “This partnership has already helped thousands of families and households and we’re looking forward to riding to the rescue of cold, headache and sore-throat sufferers across the UK.”

In November, Superdrug launched a new rapid delivery service, which allows the company to complete orders for a range of health and beauty products within just two hours.

Meanwhile, last year Boots made nearly 100 OTC medicines available for delivery via Deliveroo.
