Boots pharmacy temporarily shuts after Porsche smashes into storefront

A Northamptonshire Boots pharmacy has been forced to stay closed since a Porsche crashed into the front of the branch earlier this week.

Northamptonshire Police: “No one was injured, thankfully, and no offences committed"

The road traffic collision occurred around 7:55pm on Tuesday (May 10) at the Boots pharmacy on Wimborne Place in Daventry, Northamptonshire, a spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police confirmed to C+D today (May 13).

“No one was injured, thankfully, and no offences committed,” they added.

However, a Boots spokesperson confirmed to C+D yesterday that the incident “resulted in damage to the store entrance.”

They added: “The store is temporarily closed, and we would like to apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause.”

C+D understands that it remains unclear when the branch will fully reopen to customers, due to the damage caused by the incident.

However, some prescriptions that had already been prepared before the accident are still being handed out to patients at the branch and some members of staff will remain onsite to answer any customer queries.

A nearby Boots pharmacy in Bowen Square, Daventry, Northamptonshire, “less than a 10-minute drive away, is open for customers as usual”, a spokesperson for the multiple told C+D.

In October, a Surrey Lloydspharmacy was forced to shut for one day, forcing patients to go elsewhere to collect their medication, after a man smashed the front door of the branch to steal an undisclosed sum of money.
