Community Pharmacy Scotland launches insurance service
Community Pharmacy Scotland (CPS) has launched an insurance service division for its contractors.
The core product is a commercial combined policy that provides liability and all risks cover.
The scheme also provides access to other types of commercial and personal insurance schemes, including buildings and contents, and vehicle insurance for pharmacy contractors and their staff.
There were no additional membership fees to pay to access the facility, which is called Community Pharmacy Scotland Insurance Services (CPSIS), CPS chief executive Harry McQuillan said. "We are confident our pricing structure will prove attractive to all pharmacy contractors," he added.
CPSIS has been licensed as a trading name to Kinnell Corporate, which is a company that is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
CPS will act as an appointed representative of Kinnell, which means they can carry out certain activities under the contract.
"Community Pharmacy Scotland Insurance Services is licensed by CPS, allowing our members to benefit from the income and capital value created. We believe that this is the most innovative and attractive insurance option open to pharmacy contractors in Scotland," Mr McQuillan added.
