The flu jab song took the music scene by storm this year - could a number one be on the cards?
Why it won
We’re still trying to work this out. The lyrics are questionable, as is the festive percussion of this little ditty, put out by NHS England to promote free flu vaccinations. But you can’t fault the message: “Protect yourself and others from the bugs the season brings”. It is also fair to say that the subject of flu has the potential to be a little dry, but this song certainly injects some life into the topic.
The critics’ take
OK, it’s no Hans Zimmer, but the flu song has got its fair share of love on Twitter. Rumours that it will make Christmas number one are as yet unfounded.
